Shiny Things

I love trim stores in New York. There are dozens of tiny (and large!) specialty shops full of anything you could want or imagine. Intricate beads, rainbows of feathers, a wonderland of rhinestones, and miles of ribbons down every aisle. Being a bit of a magpie myself, I can get lost wandering for hours  

I ventured out on my lunch break today to pick up a few items for a little project I've been meaning to get to lately... But you'll see more of that later this weekend :) 

Jaded

You may have noticed in previous photos of me, I'm constantly wearing a jade bracelet.
It's pretty much a permanent fixture for me, as well as my tiny jade rings. All of these pieces are carved from a solid piece of beautiful, unique stone.
Jade has been appreciated throughout history in a lot of eastern cultures, and has a rich history full of myth and wonder.
I personally love it for its unique details and flaws in coloration- sometimes I think that the more discolored pieces are even more beautiful than that appear to be more uniform.
It's all about embracing the natural and unique. <3

Sometimes the most beautiful vintage pieces we find are the smallest and most delicate ones.

Jewelry, small beaded purses, and other accessories (like the vintage lace and leather handmade gloves from my personal collection) add just the right amount of whimsy to any look.
